On November 12, 2024, 15-year-old Jamar DeAndre Hamilton was fatally shot at the Speedy Gas Station in the 8800 block of North Broadway in St. Louis' Baden neighborhood. Officers responded to reports of a shooting around 1:40 a.m. and found Hamilton on the ground with gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest that Hamilton was with a group of individuals who exchanged gunfire with occupants of another vehicle.
