In the Walnut Park East neighborhood of St. Louis, Courtney Montez Sr. Ward, a 42-year-old Black / African American male, was fatally shot on the evening of Wednesday, April 27, 2016. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of Theodore Avenue, where Ward was reportedly inside a car when the sound of gunfire echoed through the street.
