In the Walnut Park East neighborhood of St. Louis, Courtney Montez Sr. Ward, a 42-year-old Black / African American male, was fatally shot on the evening of Wednesday, April 27, 2016. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of Theodore Avenue, where Ward was reportedly inside a car when the sound of gunfire echoed through the street.

According to police who arrived at the scene, Ward was discovered in the driver's seat of the vehicle, having sustained at least one gunshot ...
