On the afternoon of March 29, 2016, tragedy struck the Baden neighborhood in the northern section of St. Louis, Missouri. Police officers were summoned to the 300 block of Christian Avenue following reports of gunfire in the residential area. Upon their arrival at the scene, first responders discovered a 40-year-old African American male, identified as Andre Henderson, suffering from critical injuries.
Detectives determined that the victim had been outside cleaning his vehicle when he
was targeted. According to the initial investigation, unknown assailants opened fire, striking him multiple times. Despite the immediate response of emergency personnel, he succumbed to his gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the location before he could be transported to a hospital for treatment.
Witnesses in the vicinity reported seeing two suspects fleeing the area immediately after the shooting. The individuals were observed speeding away in a vehicle, though no specific description of the car or the shooters was provided to the public at the time. Homicide detectives launched an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the attack, but reports following the incident indicated that the suspects remained at large and no arrests had been made in connection with the case.
