Pfc. Aaron Thomas Nemelka, a 19-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, tragically lost his life on November 5, 2009, at Fort Hood, Texas. He was killed during a mass shooting carried out by a disgruntled U.S. Army psychiatrist, Major Nidal Hasan. The incident resulted in the deaths of 13 people and injuries to more than 30 others.
