Edgar Cruz Macedo, a 26-year-old Hispanic male, tragically lost his life on March 1, 2014, in Austin, Texas. The incident occurred at Club Zota De Oro, a nightclub in South Austin, where Macedo had gone with his ex-brother-in-law, Arturo Torres. While at the club, Macedo got into a confrontation with two men in the restroom. Torres, who attempted to intervene, brandished a handgun.
