Christine Watkins, a 64-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on October 20, 2014, in Killeen, Texas. She was a dedicated school bus driver and a beloved member of her community. Watkins was shot in her driveway while outside her home with her husband. The incident was part of a murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by Jo Ann Wilbert, who was 64 years old at the time. Wilbert was accused of hiring Andrew Lenard Hardesty, a 30-year-old man, to carry out the murder.
