On April 29, 2015, Mettha Chandra Kuruppu, a 52-year-old male of Indian ethnicity, was tragically shot and killed during an armed robbery at his convenience store, Pick-N-Shop, located on South Major Drive in Beaumont, Texas. Kuruppu was working behind the counter when two masked men entered the store with the intent to rob it.
