Darius Owens, a 35-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on November 26, 2015, in Mesquite, Texas. The incident occurred early Thanksgiving morning at a residence on Hidden Springs Drive. According to reports, an argument broke out between Darius Owens and his brother, Bruce R. Johnson, 40, which escalated into a fatal shooting. Owens was shot and killed by Johnson around 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The police were called to the scene, and Johnson was taken into custody.
