Hector Vela, a 25-year-old Latino male, tragically lost his life on September 30, 2016, in Dallas, Texas. He was one of three Latino men shot in the 700 block of North Lancaster in Oak Cliff, Dallas. The incident occurred on a Friday afternoon, and Hector, along with 44-year-old Yurio Camacho, was fatally shot, while a third man was injured but survived. The survivor was transported to Methodist Medical Center for treatment and was expected to survive.
