Anthony Isaiah Mares, a 2-year-old boy of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically died on November 18, 2018, in Dallas, Texas. He was shot in the stomach by a handgun that discharged while he was at home with his mother and her boyfriend. The incident occurred in a makeshift mobile home park on Beckleycrest Avenue. Anthony's mother was in the bathroom with her two daughters when she heard a loud bang and saw her boyfriend, Rolando Hidalgo, come out of the master bedroom holding Anthony, who was crying.
