On December 8, 2019, 22-year-old Mohamed Abdi Mohamed, a Black male, was fatally shot in the Vickery Meadow neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. Mohamed was involved in a verbal altercation with an unknown suspect at the parking lot of a 24-Hour Store located at 8455 Park Lane, near Hemlock Avenue. During the altercation, a second unknown suspect shot Mohamed, and both suspects fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.
Mohamed was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation into Mohamed's death is ongoing, and police have not released any information about the suspects. The Dallas Police Department has been working on a crime plan to address the rising murder rate in the city, which reached 194 murders in 2019. Surveillance video obtained by NBC 5 shows Mohamed fighting with another man before he was fatally shot.
As of now, there have been no arrests, suspects identified, or litigations related to Mohamed's death. The investigation remains open, and authorities continue to search for the individuals responsible for his murder.
