Isidro Lopez, a 36-year-old Hispanic male, was fatally shot on January 3, 2017, in San Antonio, Texas. The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. at the Hilltop Oaks Apartments, located at 6130 Ingram Road. Lopez was standing in the parking lot with a woman when a gunman, also in his 30s, drove up and began arguing with the couple. The suspect then pulled out a gun and started shooting at Lopez, hitting him in the torso as he attempted to flee.
Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene, in the doorway of his apartment.
The San Antonio Police Department Chief, William McManus, indicated that the dispute might have been drug-related. Despite having possible leads on the suspect, no arrests had been made as of January 6, 2017. The investigation was ongoing, and the police were confident in the leads they had.
In a separate case, Isidro Lopez Jimenez, a 53-year-old male, was arrested for the murder of his wife, Anjelica Jimenez, in Kerr County, Texas. This case is unrelated to the death of Isidro Lopez in San Antonio. Jimenez was charged with felony first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence after allegedly killing his wife and hiding her body for over a year. He was sentenced to 22 years in prison after pleading guilty to the charges.
