On January 1, 2017, Deandre Berry, a 27-year-old male, was shot and killed in the Evanston neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. The shooting occurred around 9:42 p.m. near the intersection of Ruth and Woodburn Avenues. When police arrived at the scene, they found Berry with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene, becoming the first homicide victim of 2017 in Cincinnati.
