On June 17, 2023, 16-year-old Andre Greene was fatally shot in a drive-by incident in the 2200 block of Quebec Road in Cincinnati's South Fairmount neighborhood. He was returning home from a landscaping job when he was struck by gunfire. Emergency responders transported him to UC Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Andre had just completed the ninth grade at Woodward Career Technical High School. He was known for his sense of humor and dedication to family and friends.
His mother, Jessica Greene, described him as a strong, outgoing, and caring individual who aspired to become a chef.
In the aftermath of his death, the community held a balloon release and candlelight vigil at Lick Run Greenway, a park Andre cherished. Despite these efforts, as of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not released information regarding potential suspects.
