Elmer Villatoro, a 39-year-old Hispanic chef from Katy, Texas, was tragically shot and killed on July 19, 2017, while getting a haircut at the Natural Nails and Hair salon on Fry Road. Villatoro, who had worked at Antonia's Restaurant in Katy for a decade, was a beloved father of two young children and a dedicated family man. According to witnesses, a young Hispanic man walked into the salon, approached Villatoro, and shot him in the back of the head execution-style before fleeing the scene in
a black sedan.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation into Villatoro's murder, but as of now, no arrests have been made. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage from nearby businesses in an attempt to identify the suspect, who was described as a Hispanic man in his 20s wearing a white tank top, blue jeans, and a blue ballcap. Despite their efforts, the case remains unsolved, and Villatoro's family continues to search for answers and justice.
The tragic incident has left the community and Villatoro's family devastated. His wife, who had been married to him for 18 years, and their two young children are left to cope with the loss of a loving husband and father. Antonia's Restaurant held a special wine and food pairing event to raise money for Villatoro's family, and his loved ones have been vocal about their desire to see the perpetrator brought to justice.
