On November 26, 2023, Christopher Boyd, a 30-year-old Amazon delivery driver, was fatally shot near his residence in Katy, Texas. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. as Boyd returned home from work to the apartment complex located at 24758 Grand Harbor Drive. As he pulled into the entrance, an assailant ambushed him, firing multiple shots into his vehicle. Despite his injuries, Boyd managed to flee, crashing his car into a gate and a tree before reaching his apartment, where he collapsed.
He was transported to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
In the aftermath, Boyd's family revealed that he had previously experienced conflicts with a coworker at the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Richmond. His wife, Chelsea Morris-Boyd, recounted an incident where the coworker, identified as 40-year-old Vicline St. Hilaire, nearly collided with Boyd's car after running a stop sign, leading to a confrontation. This altercation reportedly escalated, with St. Hilaire attempting to instigate a fight at their workplace. On the morning of the shooting, it is alleged that St. Hilaire followed Boyd home and carried out the fatal attack.
Following a thorough investigation, authorities arrested St. Hilaire on February 20, 2024, during a traffic stop. He has been charged with Boyd's murder and is currently held in the Harris County Jail. Records indicate that St. Hilaire has a prior criminal history, including a 2008 conviction for aggravated assault in Fort Bend County, for which he was sentenced to 16 years in prison and paroled in 2019. He also faced subsequent arrests for car theft and assault.
Boyd's death has left his family, including his wife and their two young sons, devastated. His mother, Lequisha Abron, expressed profound grief over the loss of her son, who had become a victim of a senseless act of violence. The family continues to mourn as they seek justice for Boyd's untimely death.
