David Morales Canas, a 5-year-old Hispanic boy, tragically died on January 8, 2018, in Galveston, Texas. The incident occurred at the San Luis Resort, an upscale hotel on the Gulf of Mexico. David, along with his father Mauricio Canas and older brother Mauricio Jr., was fatally shot in their hotel room. The shooter was David's mother, Flor De Maria Pineda Canas, who subsequently took her own life.
