Donnella Heads, a 31-year-old African American woman from Dallas, Texas, tragically died on January 17, 2018. She was found dead in her apartment along with Steven Gentry, her husband, in what was determined to be a murder-suicide. The couple was discovered by police during a welfare check, and both had gunshot wounds. The apartment door was locked from the inside, and the incident was initially treated as a murder-suicide.
