According to his obituary, Fred was born on July 11, 1944, in Modest Town, Virginia, and was the son of the late Tobitha Bailey Shrieves and Ellis Shrieves, Sr. He was found deceased at his home in Accomac, Virginia, shortly before 8 p.m. on the day of his death.
