She was a loving mother to her children: Destiny, Joe Michael, and Johnathan. Fluent in Spanish, she enjoyed fishing and had a deep appreciation for her mother's garden and the color purple. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
On that fateful morning, Grand Prairie police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 700 block of NW 14th Street. Upon arrival, officers found Kimberly with a fatal gunshot wound. A man, whose identity was not disclosed in the available sources, was also found with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to a local trauma center, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities treated the case as a family violence-related murder-suicide.
