On May 31, 2018, Oliver Villarreal, a 1-year-old Hispanic boy from Laredo, Texas, tragically lost his life after being shot in the head during a drive-by shooting. Oliver was sitting in his stroller outside an apartment complex with his 2-year-old sibling and their father when the incident occurred. The shots came from a passing vehicle, and it remains unclear who the intended target was. Oliver was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
