Cody J. Brown, age 24, was killed on August 16, 2013, in Kansas City, Missouri, during a shooting that took place in the 100 block of W. 39th Street. Brown was one of two individuals shot that night; he was found critically injured and succumbed to his wounds soon after emergency responders arrived. The shooting occurred outside a local business, where multiple people were present during the incident.
