Jonathon Cruz, 39, was shot and killed on November 14, 2013, in his Kansas City home. Police responded to reports of a shooting around 2:30 p.m. that day and found Cruz with fatal gunshot wounds. The tragic incident took place in a residential neighborhood, leaving friends, family, and community members deeply affected. They held a prayer vigil shortly after his death to remember Cruz and plead for any information that could help solve the case.
