The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m., when multiple gunshots were reported at the apartment complex. Adan and his 37-year-old brother, Jose Villarreal, were found with multiple gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Kingsville Police Department launched an investigation into the double homicide and arrested two suspects in connection with the shooting. David Isassi Jr., a 30-year-old man from Kingsville, and Iziah Lamar Lopez, a 17-year-old from Falfurrias, Texas, were charged with two counts of capital murder. The arrests were made shortly after the incident, with Isassi being apprehended in Kingsville and Lopez being arrested in Falfurrias with assistance from the Brooks County Sheriff's Department.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, but police have suggested that a fight between the brothers and the suspects may have led to the tragic event.
