In the winter of 2013, the life of 31-year-old Brandis R. Ruetz, a woman who had moved to the Kansas City area from Sycamore, Illinois, came to a tragic end. On Wednesday, December 4, 2013, her body was discovered by city workers who were cleaning debris behind a vacant house in the 3300 block of Oakley Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri.
