Miguel Angel Valdez Hernandez, a 57-year-old Hispanic male, tragically died on June 18, 2019, in Brownsville, Texas. He was jogging near the Rio Grande when he was fatally shot. The bullet that killed him was confirmed to have come from the Mexican side of the border, specifically from Matamoros, Tamaulipas. This incident occurred during a shootout in the area, and Miguel was an unintended victim of the cross-border violence.
