Marakus Rocko Quezaun Pickett, a 23-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on June 22, 2019, in San Antonio, Texas. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when Pickett was driving down the frontage road of Loop 410 and Cripple Creek. He was shot twice, once in the stomach and once in the leg. Despite his injuries, Pickett managed to drive his car to the entrance of the Spanish Oaks Apartments located in the 3200 block of Cripple Creek.
He then exited his vehicle and ran inside the apartment complex seeking help. Unfortunately, he collapsed near one of the buildings and was later found by someone who called the police. Pickett was transported to University Hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The San Antonio Police Department launched an investigation into Pickett's death. At the time, there were no witnesses or suspects identified. The police released surveillance images of two men who were considered persons of interest in connection with the fatal shooting. The investigation continued as authorities sought to gather more information and identify the individuals responsible for the crime.
As of now, there have been no arrests or litigations reported in connection with Pickett's death. The case remains open, and the San Antonio Police Department continues to seek leads and information from the public to solve the murder of Marakus Rocko Quezaun Pickett.
