On October 1, 2019, Son Kim Nguyen, a 50-year-old male of Vietnamese ethnicity, was found shot to death inside a parked vehicle in an apartment complex parking lot in Garland, Texas. The Garland Police Department responded to the scene around 4:30 p.m. after receiving a report of an unconscious male. Paramedics pronounced Nguyen deceased at the scene, and detectives began investigating his death as a murder.
