On January 31, 2021, 18-year-old Rhamil Reason was found fatally shot behind a Walmart in Garland, Texas. The incident occurred sometime between 10:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on January 30, 2021, when Reason was involved in an exchange of gunfire with another individual. The next day, Garland police officers responded to the scene and began investigating the death as a murder.
