In the early hours of March 17, 2024, Garland police responded to a shooting at a residence in the 4900 block of Captains Place. Upon arrival, officers discovered 20-year-old Dallas resident, Drevon Bowman, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigations revealed that a disturbance during a party at the residence led to the fatal shooting.
Authorities identified 19-year-old Mesquite resident, Kadarrion Kanard Scott, as the primary suspect and issued an arrest warrant for him. A reward of up to $5,000 was offered for information leading to Scott's apprehension.
On April 3, 2024, with assistance from U.S. Marshals, Scott was arrested and charged with murder. He was subsequently held at the Garland Detention Center on a $1 million bond.
