Summary based on 9 sources
Craig Treyvon Garner, a 31-year-old African American man from Texarkana, Texas, tragically passed away on November 9, 2019. He was employed at Mayo Manufacturing Corporation and was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Craig is survived by his wife, A’Kayla Garner, and their four children.

Craig Garner's death was the result of a home invasion shooting. On the night of November 9, 2019, three teenagers, Daveon Woods, Cameron Ware, and Kentraile Collins Jr., broke into Garner's apartment at around 1 a.m. The trio mistakenly targeted Garner's apartment, believing it belonged to someone else. During the invasion, Woods shot Craig in the doorway of his bedroom with a .40 caliber handgun, leading to his death at a local hospital.

Daveon Woods, also known as "Shoota," was found guilty of capital murder and sentenced to life in prison. Cameron Ware testified against Woods and was also charged with capital murder. Kentraile Collins Jr. was arrested and charged with capital murder in August 2020. Collins was upset at a man he had allegedly tried to rob the day before and recruited Woods and Ware to help him rob the man at his apartment. The trio went to the wrong apartment, leading to the tragic shooting of Craig Garner.

The case has seen multiple arrests and ongoing litigation. Woods' conviction was upheld by the Texas Sixth Court of Appeals in 2021, and he will be eligible for parole in 2059. Collins' trial is scheduled for jury selection in February 2023. Ware remains in custody on charges of capital murder and aggravated robbery.

Craig Garner's death has left a lasting impact on his family and the community, and the legal proceedings continue to seek justice for his tragic passing.
