Chase Aaron Porier, a 27-year-old male from Texarkana, Texas, tragically passed away on December 27, 2020. He was FAA certified in Aviation Mechanics and had worked in Masonry and as a chef. On the day of his death, he was at his residence on Forest Circle in Bowie County when two men, later identified as Kristopher Allen Fate Wilson and Brandon Lasuan Parkman, arrived unannounced. An altercation ensued, during which Wilson shot Porier, leading to his death.
The suspects also took Porier's and a witness's cell phones before fleeing the scene in a blue two-door car with a black bumper.
Following the incident, the Bowie County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation. On December 28, 2020, Kristopher Allen Fate Wilson, also known as "Flip," was identified as a suspect and arrested with the assistance of the Cass County Sheriff's Office. He was charged with Capital Murder and held in the Bi-State Jail in Texarkana. The second suspect, Brandon Lasuan Parkman, was also arrested and charged with Capital Murder. Both suspects were involved in the robbery of Porier's marijuana, which was the apparent motive for the crime.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Bradley Akins and Randle Smolarz, with Texarkana attorney Derric McFarland representing Wilson. In February 2022, Wilson was sentenced to 60 years in prison for the murder. Parkman's trial was scheduled for later that year. The investigation and subsequent legal proceedings highlighted the tragic and violent nature of the crime, as well as the swift response of law enforcement in bringing the suspects to justice.
Chase Aaron Porier is remembered fondly by his family and friends for his love of life, his passion for mechanics, and his friendly nature. He is survived by his mother, Pam Porier, and numerous other relatives and friends who continue to cherish his memory.
