Notorious Crabtree, a 16-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on April 1, 2020, in Texarkana, Texas. The incident occurred at the intersection of Westlawn Drive and Meadowbrook Lane, where officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a person who had been shot. Upon arrival, they found Crabtree lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the chest.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation revealed that earlier in the evening, Bosnia Taylor, a 21-year-old woman from Texarkana, Arkansas, had been involved in a physical altercation with another woman. Following the altercation, Bosnia Taylor sent messages on social media expressing her desire to fight again. She then arrived at Meadowbrook Lane with seven other individuals, including her 20-year-old brother, Demarious Taylor, from Ashdown, Arkansas. Witnesses reported that a fight ensued between the two groups, during which Bosnia Taylor instructed her brother to "shoot him." Demarious Taylor then produced a pistol and fired at Crabtree, striking him once in the chest. The group fled the scene in two vehicles.
Both Bosnia and Demarious Taylor were arrested and charged with murder. They were booked into the Bi-State Jail, with a judge setting their bond at one million dollars each. The investigation into the incident continued, with the possibility of additional arrests. A Bowie County grand jury later indicted the siblings in connection with the shooting. Both cases were assigned to 202nd District Judge John Tidwell, with Demarious Taylor scheduled to appear for arraignment on June 9, 2020. Court records did not show a date for Bosnia Taylor's arraignment.
The tragic death of Notorious Crabtree highlights the devastating consequences of violence and the impact it has on communities. The ongoing investigation and legal proceedings aim to bring justice for the young victim and his family.
