Juanisha Wanique Fortune, a 32-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on January 16, 2020, in Houston, Texas. She was found with multiple gunshot wounds in an empty lot on Cullen Boulevard and Larkspur Street around 7:55 p.m. Fortune was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. The preliminary investigation suggested that Fortune might have been conducting a prostitution transaction at the location when she was shot.
