On the night of January 19, 2015, a violent incident unfolded in the southern region of Kansas City, Missouri, claiming the life of 20-year-old Black male Anthony R. Convert. The quiet of the evening was shattered around 9:15 p.m. when residents in the vicinity of the 5600 block of East 84th Terrace reported hearing the sound of gunfire. Officers from the Kansas City Police Department were dispatched to the scene to investigate the reports of a shooting outside a local apartment complex.
Upon their arrival, first responders discovered Convert suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was found lying on the ground outside the residential buildings, critically injured but still alive at the time of discovery. Emergency medical personnel quickly transported him to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment. Despite the efforts of medical staff to save him, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the medical facility.
