Upon arrival, deputies discovered 17-year-old Aundair La'Truahn Bowser, a resident of Austin, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
Aundair was a senior at Premier High School in North Austin, with aspirations of becoming a rapper or professional football player.
He was known for his protective nature, generosity, and sense of humor. Family members described him as a "protector" and someone who "wasn't selfish." He had plans to move to West Virginia for a better life and to support his siblings.
In connection with Aundair's death, a juvenile suspect has been charged with manslaughter. Due to the suspect's age, authorities have withheld their identity and specific details about the incident. The case remains under investigation by the Williamson County Sheriff's Office.
The tragic loss of Aundair has deeply affected his family and the local community. His sister, Shauntanair, expressed profound grief, stating, "All he ever wanted to do is help people... He was the best person I ever met. My best friend." His mother lamented the pervasive issue of gun violence, saying, "Gun violence is killing our boys. We're losing sons out here in senseless violence."
A memorial service for Aundair was held on January 6, 2024, at Premier High School in Austin, where family and friends gathered to honor his memory and celebrate his life.
