Charles Robert Carter, a 35-year-old man from Mexia, Texas, was found dead on October 30, 2020. The discovery was made after a United States Postal Service employee reported a foul odor emanating from a residence in the 300 block of South Ross Street. Upon arrival, Mexia Police and Fire Department personnel located Carter's body inside the home. Preliminary assessments indicated that Carter had suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
