Kenneth Salazar, a 57-year-old man from San Antonio, Texas, tragically died on June 13, 2021, from injuries sustained during a shooting at the Paradise Motel on the West Side of San Antonio. Salazar, who was a Gulf War veteran and cancer survivor, was helping a stranger fix his car when he was shot by Leopoldo Mora, 37, during an argument. Initially, Salazar's injuries were not considered life-threatening, but his condition worsened, and he passed away three days later.
The incident began when Salazar got into an argument with Mora, who then shot him in the abdomen before fleeing the scene in a car. The car returned to the scene later, but Mora was no longer inside. Investigators used surveillance footage, fingerprints, and witness accounts to identify Mora as the shooter.
