On August 14, 2021, a tragic incident occurred in Portland, Texas, resulting in the death of Elijah Eli Joel Garza, a 5-year-old boy. Elijah, along with his mother, Jennifer Phillips, 36, and his father, Roel Garza, 52, were found dead in their home. The incident was determined to be a double homicide-suicide.
