Kenneth Ellababedi, an 18-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically lost his life on August 22, 2021, in El Paso, Texas. Kenneth was a senior at El Dorado High School and was known for his hardworking nature and friendly demeanor. He had just turned 18 in June 2021 and was working at a fast-food job while preparing for adulthood.
Kenneth's death occurred during a house party on Wendy Reed Street in the Montwood Heights neighborhood of East El Paso.
The party, which had been announced on social media, became overcrowded and out of control, leading to fights and eventually gunfire. Kenneth was shot and killed around 2 a.m. during the chaos. The homicide remains under investigation, and as of early Tuesday evening following the incident, no arrests had been made.
Kenneth's mother, Alma Vaughan, made a heartfelt plea for witnesses to come forward to help solve her son's death. She described Kenneth as a good boy who was loved by many and helped raise his younger siblings while she was a single mother. The community has rallied around the family, setting up a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral expenses and offering rewards for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for Kenneth's death.
The investigation into Kenneth Ellababedi's murder continues, with the El Paso Police Department actively seeking information from the public. The family remains hopeful that justice will be served, and those responsible for Kenneth's death will be held accountable.
