Jorge Arturo Hinojos, a 32-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically lost his life on September 26, 2015, in El Paso, Texas. The incident occurred outside Pockets Billiards on Mesa Street, where Hinojos was fatally shot. The altercation that led to his death happened just as the establishment was closing for the night.
Carlos Lozano, the suspect in this case, was identified and later convicted for the murder of Hinojos.
According to police reports, Lozano waited for Hinojos to get into a vehicle before firing four shots and fleeing the scene. He then crossed the border into Juarez, Mexico, but was eventually apprehended a few months later at the Bridge of the Americas and taken into custody by U.S. Marshals' Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.
In 2017, Lozano was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the shooting death of Hinojos. The court found him guilty of murder, and he received his sentence from the 384th District Court Judge Patrick Garcia.
