In the winter of 2016, the life of 23-year-old Katherine Peralta, a White female, came to a tragic end in Salt Lake City, Utah. On the evening of December 29th, in the parking lot of her workplace, ARUP Laboratories, Katherine was shot and killed by her 25-year-old husband, Richard Peralta. After taking his wife's life, Richard then turned the gun on himself in a devastating murder-suicide.
The couple, who had a 15-month-old son, had been experiencing significant marital problems.
According to statements from Katherine's family, she had recently informed Richard of her intention to file for divorce in the coming new year. Friends and family described Katherine as a kind and gentle person who was devoted to her young son.
