On the evening of May 15, 1985, Christine Gallegos, an 18-year-old female, disappeared in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her body was discovered the following day, May 16, 1985, near what was then known as Dirk's Field, located around 1384 South Jefferson Street. The scene told a story of a violent struggle; she had been brutally beaten, sexually assaulted, stabbed, and shot to death.
