On January 22, 2020, 15-year-old Jesus Estrada, a sophomore at Socorro High School and a former member of the El Paso 49ers Youth Football team, was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting in the 11000 block of Villa Del Mar in Socorro, Texas. Estrada was found dead at the scene by law enforcement who responded to a shots-fired call around 9:30 p.m. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit launched an investigation into the incident.
