Elvira Yah-Escano, a 44-year-old Hispanic woman, was found dead on September 5, 2021, in her home in Houston, Texas. She was discovered alongside her husband, Jairo Escaño, 37, and their two children, Isabel Escaño, 13, and Jairo Escaño Jr., 10. The family was found inside their burning home after firefighters responded to a house fire. All four victims had been shot before the fire was set, leading investigators to believe the fire was an attempt to destroy evidence.
