On November 3, 2021, Bobby Angel De Leon, a 22-year-old Hispanic male from Mission, Texas, tragically lost his life in a murder-suicide incident at the parking lot of Mission Regional Medical Center. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. when De Leon was in a car with his girlfriend, a 27-year-old woman. The shooter, identified as Peter Santana Martinez Jr., 29, confronted the couple and opened fire on De Leon before turning the weapon on himself.
