On the afternoon of January 19, 2016, violence erupted near the intersection of 39th Street and Troost Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri, claiming the life of 40-year-old Walter Lee Gregory, an African American male. Police officers were dispatched to the scene around 2:00 p.m. following reports of a shooting in the area.
