Marcus Allen Freeman, a 34-year-old African American man from Port Arthur, Texas, was tragically found dead on January 21, 2022. He was discovered unresponsive in his vehicle at the Normandy Apartments, suffering from a gunshot wound. Freeman was the brother of former Port Arthur Mayor Derrick Freeman. The circumstances surrounding his death suggested that he was shot the previous day, on his 34th birthday.
