Luis Cardova, a 21-year-old male, tragically lost his life on February 20, 2022, in Houston, TX. The incident occurred at around 6:05 a.m. when three unknown suspects forcefully entered a residence on Broadway Street. During the altercation, Cardova was involved in a physical confrontation with one of the suspects, and another suspect shot him. Cardova was then transported via private vehicle to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased the following day, February 21, 2022.
Following the incident, the Houston Police Department launched an investigation. Detectives K. Persad and A. Grimes from the HPD Homicide Division worked diligently to identify the suspects involved. Their investigation led to the arrest of Mayke Miranda Lino, a 21-year-old male, who was charged with murder in connection with Cardova's death. Lino was arrested without incident by the HPD Major Offenders Division Criminal Apprehension Team on May 24, 2022.
The case is currently ongoing, and Lino has been charged in the 184th State District Court.
