On February 21, 2022, Christopher James Mejia, a 14-year-old boy from San Antonio, Texas, tragically lost his life in a North Side shootout. Mejia was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire of a violent incident that began as a robbery scheme. The incident occurred outside a gas station near Blanco Road and West Mariposa Drive. Mejia was pronounced dead at the scene, moments after police responded to a call for shots fired.
